The British Pie Awards

The pie is one of the icons of British cuisine. Savoury or sweet, the British eat millions of them every year. These Awards are a national celebration of British Pies in all their varieties.

The Awards will be held in Melton Mowbray, the Rural Capital of Food.

'A pie is deemed to be a filling totally encased in pastry'.

Aims of the award:

To celebrate the heritage of the British pie
To protect and promote regional specialities
To recognise the craft of bakers, butchers and other producers
To support British produce


Prizes

The Supreme Champion of the Awards 'Pie of Pies' will win a shield and a prize of £1,000. The Champion in each class will win £50.

There will be a Champion and Reserve Champion in each of the twelve classes. The Champion from each category will compete for the title of Supreme Champion.
